The Origin Story
This site exists because I got tired of repeating myself. I love my friends, and I love that they visit Roxas City, but I realized I was writing the same “Best Seafood” list in my group chats about three times a month. This is that list, given a permanent home and a fresh coat of paint.
The Philosophy
This is not TripAdvisor. There are no star ratings here, mostly because I don’t believe a place can be summarized by a number.
- It is Curated: If it’s on this list, it’s because I go there. If it’s not, I either haven’t found it yet, or I didn’t like the soup. Or I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Whatever; if your establishment isn’t on here, don’t take it personal, and it’s fine – I barely get any traffic anyway 😅
- It is Commercial-Free: I’m not an influencer. No one paid to be here. There are no ads. This is a labor of love (and gluttony).
- It is Personal: Posting privilege is limited largely to people I know and trust. Treat this guide like a recommendation whispered at a dinner party.
The Setting
Capiz is a place of myths and mangroves, of quiet history and very loud flavors. It can be overwhelming if you don’t know where to look. My goal is simply to point you toward the good stuff—the places that make this province feel like home, even if you’re only here for the weekend.
Look around. Pick a spot. Go eat something delicious.
